2010 AGM
Academy elects new President
The 2010 Annual General Meeting of members was held in the Academy Galleries on June 15th. It was well attended by around 50 members, council and staff.

The President of the last three years, Jenny Shearer stepped down at the meeting and was replaced by the vice president, Ian Hamlin. Donna Dentice and Alfred Memelink have subsequently been elected by the Academy council as the two new Vice Presidents.
Jenny Shearer's term as President has seen a transformation of the Academy's exhibition program with the invitation of nationally recognised guest artists a feature of most exhibitions now. She took the lead in hosting the very successful Da Vinci machines exhibition and has overseen the establishment of galleryONE, the 'Academy shop' which means the Academy Galleries are now open every day.

Academy Councillor Carole Hartney also stepped down from the council. Carole has been a very valued member of the council since 2003 and brought a wealth of experience to the table. |
At the AGM Mr Hamlin introduced to members the Academy's new Strategic Plan which outlines the vision of the Academy for the next two years. The plan and its accompanying operational plan is the result of many hours of work and consultation by council and other stakeholders in the Academy, lead by the new vice president Donna Dentice.
