Academy Collection
In 2002 the Academy Council decided to put funds aside from exhibitions to re-establish an Academy Collection. Historically the Academy Collection was of some significance as it formed the basis of the National Art Collection now at Te Papa. Our current collection comprises a few works gathered since our last donation to the National Collection in 1967 and a small number purchased since 2002. As finances allow it is hoped to collect works from Academy artists that will grow in time to form a unique record of art in New Zealand.

Guy Ngan is a Life Member of the Academy of Fine Arts and was on the Academy Council from 1972 - 76 including as Vice President from 1974 - 76, he then served as Academy Director from 1977 - 86
