Wellington Art Show - Lisa Call named Wellington Regional Winner

 The first of the finalists in The STUFF Art Aotearoa Gold Awards for 2025 was announced at the opening of The Wellington Art Show at Tākina on Friday 28 February. The four artists in contention were Zoe Cromwell for ‘Verge (What we Hold)’, Shona Mackenzie for ‘The Waters That Ground me’, Lisa Call for ‘Kaleidoscope of the Sea: Echoes of Kāpiti’ and Amber Emm for ‘Tender Beauty’.

Lisa’s work, ‘Kaleidoscope of the Sea: Echoes of Kāpiti’

 National judge for the Awards, artist and illustrator Bob Kerr, praised the works of all four artists before announcing the regional finalist was Lisa Call. Lisa’s work, ‘Kaleidoscope of the Sea: Echoes of Kāpiti’ has been purchased by the Academy and will be displayed at Parliament with the other regional finalists after the national awards announcements are made at the end of the year.
