Donate and volunteer

To continue our mission we welcome donations, bequests and offers of sponsorship from potential partners wishing to support our exhibitions and awards fostering the visual arts of Aotearoa New Zealand for our next century.

As a registered charity (CC11270) donations of $5 or more may be eligible for a tax credit in New Zealand and receipts will be issued for all donations.

We invite you to become a regular donor and to consider joining our platinum, gold, silver or bronze donor clubs:

- Platinum $400 per month

- Gold $200 per month

- Silver $100 per month

- Bronze $50 per month

Payments by internet banking to NZ Academy of Fine Arts at 06-0561-0014541-01 should include “donation” in the payment particulars with your name. Please email your address to Office@nzafa.com to confirm your payment.

We also rely heavily on our volunteers. If you believe that you have skills or experience to offer the Academy, please get in touch at info@nzafa.com or 04 499 8807.

Love art and buy

We are a self-funding Incorporated Society dedicated to the visual arts. We aim to benefit the community of New Zealand through the promotion, creation, understanding and enjoyment of the visual arts.  Regular exhibitions featuring new work from established and emerging artists from throughout New Zealand are held in the Academy's architectural award-winning galleries.

The Academy receives no funding from central or local government. It is entirely reliant on the support of individuals, whether of its members and supporting friends or the art-loving public purchasing exhibited artworks. As well as a programme of ever-changing and exciting exhibitions of contemporary New Zealand visual arts in all styles and media, the Gallery Shop offers unique, beautiful and quirky gifts or indulgences.

Become a Member

If you love the arts, this is one of the best ways you can support them. Enjoy contemporary art by established and emerging New Zealand artists in our exhibitions. Meet with artists and fellow art lovers. Receive invitations, and discounts on entry, to workshops and special events. Members receive newsletters, invitations and regular notices of Academy events. They also receive discounted entry fees and a better commission rate on sales.

Membership types

• Member: $95
• Senior (65+): $75
• Student: $35

Students must be enrolled at a recognised educational institution as a Full-time student and provide a copy of their student ID.
