Celebrate Wellington's youngest artists. Children aged 3-12 years old living in the Wellington region can enter the 8th Wellington Children's Art Exhibition being held in the Academy Galleries this October. The theme is friendship.
The annual exhibition serves as a community-oriented event that addresses the limited availability of children-centric events dedicated to celebrating their individual artistic expressions. The objectives are to highlight and promote the Sister City relationship between Wellington and Sakai, underscore the ethnic diversity within the community, and celebrate the artistic creativity of children.
2024 marks the 30th Anniversary of the Wellington-Sakai Sister City relationship. To celebrate this anniversary the exhibition includes a number of workshops offering wellington children an experience of Japanese culture.
