To help you with submitting your entry we have some FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions) to help with the process.
- Who can enter this competition?
- Any NZ citizen or current resident may enter
- Is there selection criteria for entries?
- Every work entered will be exhibited if it meets the terms and conditions

- Are there limitations specific to exhibiting selected works?
- Works must be non-offensive and within the size and weight limits as stated in the terms and conditions.

- What types of works are considered Visual Art?
- Although the original intention was to offer an award to fill the gap left by the Parkin Drawing Prize this year, it is open to a wider range of media and styles than only drawing.
- The visual arts are art forms such as painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, video, filmmaking, and architecture.
- Drawing is “using a tool to make a mark” with “tool” able to mean everything from a burnt stick through a brush or pen to a laser.
- What works will be exhibited?
- Again, all works that meet the terms and conditions will be displayed

- What are the exhibition key dates?
- Entries close on Monday 9 June 2025.
- Receiving of works by 23 July 2025.
- Exhibition season is 7 - 24 August 2025
- How does the selection of Finalists work?
- Selectors independently select their list of finalists. These plus the top-scoring works from a public vote will be the selected finalists. The final number of finalists will depend on the level of agreement between the selectors and public.
