About the Artist

Born in Wellington and now based in Wanaka, Jane-Louise Kellahan has cultivated her award-winning style internationally since 1996. Her evocative, atmospheric, and thought-provoking pieces often convey powerful symbolism and/or environmental messaging.

Jane uses mixed media, oil paint and 24 carat gold leaf to fashion compelling visual textures that imbue canvas, wood and paper with depth and potency, thrilling the viewer with an exquisite dance of light. These workshops will help you paint freely and emotively, and give you confidence and direction. Jane will take you through the planning process and share her successful formula for how to make a great work of art. She draws on her 27 years’ experience of developing unique techniques and helping you prepare a canvas and bring it to life!
