Evokes the colours of the land and sea of New Zealand
Inspired by the interior of the Paua shell, this work evokes the colours of the land and sea of New Zealand. Stylised, the three points represent the land, sea and sky. The title 'In the night garden' is a play on a theme: the theme of a garden which evokes beauty and pleasure, but at night you could be anywhere. New Zealand looks like a garden from the outside, but I feel it's somewhat a dark garden as green targets are set aside, our land and waterways suffer and our ocean floors are laid waste.
